Thorns Hall

Thorns Hall is a small 16th century manor house which nestles at the foot of the Howgill Fells in the Yorkshire Dales. Designated as non-smoking its 21 en-suite bedrooms equipped with a hairdryer clock radio and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities are located within the hall or in converted outbuildings across the cobbled courtyard. Televisions and telephones are not provided in the bedrooms. The lounge and bar retain their period charm with wood paneling. Meals are served in an informal friendly atmosphere at tables for up to eight guests. A three-course dinner is served at 7 to 7.30pm for a charge of 18 GBP per person. If you would like to dine at the country house please contact the house before 6pm to make your dinner reservation. A choice of full English or continental breakfast is offered. To allow you to make the most of your touring or walking holiday a self-select picnic lunch can be provided for the small charge of 10 GBP per person. Free car parking is available. Please notify the country house in advance if you intend to arrive after 10.30pm. Bedrooms are available from 2.30pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure.The country house is an excellent base for those on an activity or walking holiday. Nearby attractions include Sizergh castle White Scar cave and the town of Hawes home of Wensleydale cheese. This country house has a 3-star Visit Britain rating.
